All areas involving (including passing through) the Black Sea, Azov Sea, Gulf of Aden, Red Sea, and Suez Canal are not covered by war risk insurance. All countries and regions in the Middle East, as well as war-torn countries such as Russia, are not covered by war, strikes, riots, and civil unrest insurance.

The Middle East region generally refers to West Asia and North Africa, with about 24 countries. West Asia countries include Saudi Arabia, Iran, Kuwait, Iraq, the United Arab Emirates, Oman, Qatar, Bahrain, Türkiye, Israel, Palestine, Syria, Lebanon, Jordan, Yemen and Cyprus.

North Africa includes Sudan, Egypt, Libya, Tunisia, Algeria, Morocco, the Madeira Islands, and the Azores.
