Diaphragm compressor is named because it has a special diaphragm to separate the compressed gas from the outside world. Diaphragm compressor is also called "membrane compressor".

In diaphragm compressor, the function of cylinder is completed by a membrane city. The so-called membrane city is a city composed of a cylinder head with a dome shaped surface and an oil distribution plate (or cylinder block). The periphery of the membrane is fastened between the cylinder head and the oil distribution plate (or cylinder block). When the diaphragm flexes and deforms up and down, the volume in the membrane city changes accordingly, which plays the role of suction and compression. Therefore, in the diaphragm compressor, the diaphragm plays the role of piston in the general compressor. The closed city between the cylinder head and the diaphragm is the air city, and the city between the oil distribution plate (or cylinder block) and the diaphragm is the oil city.

Because the diaphragm of the diaphragm compressor completely separates the cylinder from the oil cylinder, the compressed medium does not contact with the oil, so as to oid oil pollution and ensure the purity of the compressed medium. The cylinder is composed of cylinder head surface and diaphragm. It is a closed city, so it has good sealing. Because the membrane city does not need lubrication, has good sealing, and the gas does not contact with any lubricant, the purity of compressed gas is very high, especially suitable for the compression, transportation or bottling of some precious rare gases.

Diaphragm compressor is a reciprocating compressor with special structure. It has large compression ratio and good sealing. The compressed gas is not polluted by lubricating oil and other solid impurities. It is suitable for compressing gases with high purity, rare and precious, flammable and explosive, toxic and harmful, corrosive and high pressure.
